Taking a closer look at company branding

The idea behind branding is to create something that is stable, permanent, and will represent you, or your company for a lifetime. Much like the branding used to mark livestock, once it’s applied it can’t be removed. Or at least shouldn’t be removed. Well removing it would require peeling away layers of skin and the same can pretty much be said for company identity. That’s not to say that reworking and updating your company image is not a good idea, but dropping your company’s brand to start a new one is never a good option. Brand stability is something that consumers look for. They may make purchasing decision based only on brand identity and nothing else. Lord knows I’ve done it.
